“Die Ein-Tages-WM”

(The One-Day-World-Championship)

World championship-feeling in the Olympiastadium. For just 9 Euros. Awesome experience, highly recommandable.

Those were my impressions of this years Istaf 2009. I dont know if all of you know the Istaf so I will give you a short introduction to this track-and-field meeting.

The Istaf (Internationales Station Fest) is one of the 6 Golden League meetings, the most renowned track-and-field meeting series after the Olympic Games and the World Championships. The Istaf in Berlin plus 5 other track-and-field sights throughout Europe are part of this series.[.....]

The objective of this series is, that if one athlete is to win all 6 of the Golden League meetings in his or her discipline he or she will be awarded 500.000 € in gold bars. Thus this series  and its meeting’s disciplines are full of stars. This year stars such as Yelena Isinbayeva, Kenenisa Bekele, Blanka Vlasic and more found there way to Berlin to compete in their disciplines.

It was my first time at the Istaf and I liked it alot. I saw many top-athletes and had a great time during those 4 hours.

I can only recommend it and I will definately go to the Istaf 2010.
