The end of an era?
“Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins“, the 4th movie of the Terminator series has now come out and can be watched in movie theatres throughout Germany. I was able to watch this movie yesterday and I think it was fantastic. But first I will provide a short summary of the plot.
The story is set in the year 2018. Humanity is at war with machines and is on the brink of losing. John Connor (Christian Bale) leads an attack by the Resistance (the Human resistance organisation) on a Skynet base. John discovers human prisoners and the plans for the development of a new type of Terminator incorporating living tissue. During the attack, the base explodes and John is the only apparent surviver. However a second man emerges from the wreckage. It is the man that was introduced in the beginning of the movie. His name is Marcus (Sam Worthington) and in 2003 he signed his body over for medical research following his execution.[.....]
While John returns to the Resistence’s headquarters, Marcus makes his way to L.A.. As John arrives at the submarine headquarters, he is informed about a new weapon against the machines, which is supposed to kill all machines. The Resistance is planning an attack on the Skynet’s headquarters in 4 days time.
After that a very exciting and breathtaking story developes…..
After I saw the movie I was amazed by all the special effects. They were amazing. But also the story was very well thought out and thus I can only recommend this movie. Christian Bale does an awesome perfomance as John Connor.
Get out and watch Terminator 4.
And let me tell you one thing, the war against the machines is not over
Here is the official trailer of Terminator 4:

Hi,
I saw the movie two weeks ago and I was surprised by the special effects as well. Not to compare with Terminator 1 in 1984
As you already said Christian Bale does a great job as John Connor and the end of the film leaves some room for another one. In my opinion the appearance of Schwarzenegger in the movie isn’t the best one. The body designed by computer is the one he maybe had 20 years ago.

I’ve seen it at preview with a couple of friends. All of us love are thinking the 2nd one is the best one. James Cameron was a pioneer of special effects and showed us in 1990 what effects you still can achive without a computer axcept from T-1000 effects. But the stunts were a mile stone. I expected the same with the 4th one. Influencing special effects and rough story, but in my opinion it does not achive that. The movie at all is too dusty and tells the story too complicated. In fact they needed a basis for the story of the two more sequeals which are coming out. The only highlight is Christian Bale who acts the dark John Connor pretty well. Anyway I will see the next one’s as well because I grew up with the story and wanna see how it ends or in case begun.
Keep going!
